Erasmus + Tuesday European teaching day

We started the day early and were in lessons teaching by 8:30. German students took part in my lesson which had them interpret the stories written by LSAstudents (from Mr Prescott's class) about Lytham st Annes "then and now" and then present as if they were a Tour Guide in our town!

They did a superb job and all of this was completed in English.

LSA students were in lessons by 8:00 am and also too part in the Erasmus lessons. Some learned a little Polish and others had a history lesson on Italy's famous scientist, Volta - sound familiar?

In the afternoon we visited the exhibit st the Gasometer in Oberhausen. It was an exhibit on all things in nature and the photos were life like and life size in many cases.

Following this the students went to Centro to have lunch (and shop) if they wanted to and thier evening was free!
Teachers stayed behind and ha a picnic in the garden of the museum. We then had a couple of hours of freetime to also visit Centro, the shopping mall.

Tonight teachers will head to a restaurant to meet the Headteacher and other staff from the school for a traditional German meal.
Tomorrow we wil continue with Europe in the box and also spend time in lessons. In the afternoon, we will visit Essen.

Day 1 Erasmus Germany

Today was our presentation day in school. After an welcoming introduction by Mr. Dahm, the Headteacher and Frau Sigi Geissler, German choir students performed two songs in English for us.

LSA students did everyone proud as they spoke about their town "then and now" and left everyone amazed, asking questions about thier uniform.

We were welcomed by the German school and they put on a fantastic performance for us!

Students were split into groups to prepare for thier end of the week presentation entitled "Europe in a Box".
They quickly began discussing how and what to present. The collaboration was fantastic!

All schools had a presentation in the morning and after a tour of the school we walked to the town centre where we had lunch.

And to our surprise, after lunch, we were entertained by students playing the piano! Students from Cyprus, Poland and our own William played brilliantly!

Sally : today was amazing we got to see what a German class is like and to present our videos to the school. Later we were able to talk to people from other countries and then we walked around town to eat yummy food !!

Sophie: I went to school and had a French lesson with Ally and Sally. Then we presented our video. After that, we ate a lot of cake and started to paint our 'Europe in a box'. We went to Franky's restaurant and ate our lunch and had a walk around the castle then we went home on a bus with Ally and Morgan.

Morgan: Today was really fun! All of the presentations were amazing and Europe in a box was really good, because we got to express our personalities and share our opinions and ideas about the project. The walk through Mülheim was really interesting! I got some really good photos and met some new friends!

Weekend in Muhlheim

The travelling was great! We arrived on time and the flight was fun playing Uno and the girls, not Will, ha ha, eating pizza!

Students were met at the airport with a fabulous reception and spent their weekend with thier host families.

Sally: I went to the trampoline park with Ally and Sophie. It was really fun and then we went bowling !!

Morgan: I have been to a confirmation too, and we had really great food! And then we went back to her house (the girl from the confirmation) and we had some cake, and then I went to visit the horses with Lara! I've had an amazing day! 😋💞

Will: I have settled in really well. I had a BBQ for lunch! Steak, sausage, bacon, salami. You name it, we had it!

Ally: it was amazing! We played lots of volleyball with Sophie, Lea and Annika and then Annika and I went to Annika's stables and cleaned her horse. We then came back and made an obstacle course for her dog! 🐶

Weekend weather was lovely and we saw the beautiful town of Kettwig
And of course some running! Great weekend. Can't wait to start our project meeting!

Trip to sister school and bio-farm day 4

Today the entire Erasmus group visited some interesting places in the island. First we visited Riverside bio-farm where we had a bio breakfast and a tour of the farm.

We then headed to the capital Nicosia where we had a quick look around the pedesteian streets of the town and finished at the border entry point between Cyprus and Turkey. It's really hard to believe that a city so beautiful and steeped in culture could be so divided. Passports are needed to cross at this point.

Following our short visit to the capital we headed to the sister school for lunch. The very modern school had a pool, cafe and an extremely successful football team! What a school!!

Fantastic day and now for a final tavern meal altogether!
